Meet Your Guide

Every guide is Uintah County permitted and trained in via ferrata technique and rescue.

Owner and Lead Guide

Daniel Wong

Daniel grew up in Orem, Utah, and has been climbing, mountain biking and canyoneering his whole life. He loves climbing in Rock Canyon and doing via ferratas in Europe, and he’s thrilled Utah now has one of its own. Since August 2024 he has been an assistant guide on mountain biking and climbing trips for Brigham Young University’s MBA program, as part of the Razor’s Edge course.

Certifications and Training

  • American Red Cross Adult First Aid / CPR / AED, valid through March 2027
  • Assistant guide, mountain biking and climbing trips, BYU MBA Razor’s Edge course, since August 2024
  • Uintah County via ferrata guide permit, pending (issued once insurance is bound)

Our Guide Standards

Every guide who leads a trip for us must hold, at minimum:

  • Current first aid and CPR certification
  • Uintah County via ferrata guide permit
  • Training in via ferrata technique, coaching and assisting nervous climbers
  • Training in rescue and lowering a stuck or injured guest
  • Supervised shadow trips on Ashley Gorge before leading guests
